Stunning, deeply respectful institution which honors the Infantry through all our wars while also putting forth an accurate history.

It is a massive grounds requiring a solid two hours minimum to explore, both in and outdoors.

Free entry ($5.00 is suggested), lots of free parking, no need to enter via a security gate to arrive there, but there is screening at the door.

The Infantry Museum is free to enter but after visiting you should feel the need to donate. The exhibits were extremely powerful and it was an awakening to be schooled with the proper history of every conflict since the mid 1700's. Plan to spend hours, as time flies like an arrow while you interact with every display, narration and facts concerning everything military. Bring tissues as you will be overcome with emotion, proud emotion. USA #1

This is an excellent museum! Every American war has it's own section of life- size displays and interactive exhibits. There's even a room that allows you to feel like you're walking through the jungles of Vietnam.
There's also virtual reality experiences on a tank, a helicopter, and several other vehicles that you can purchase.
I can't begin to explain how impressive this place is. You can learn so much in an exciting way! I highly recommend visiting the National Infantry museum in Columbus, Georgia!

They boast that it's America's Best free museum, Sorry not Sorry, tha Air Force museum in Dsyton is by far better, at one time Ft. Knox had Patton's Armor museum, then they closed it & moved it's Fine curios/artifacts supposedly here, but by appt only & maybe once a month, you can hear the iykyk in the responses from museum workers here, @ that extraordinary armor it once had on display, now tucked away.

This is a great place to stop by and visit, weather your staying in the area or just passing by. I’m not a big history buff but getting to learn about the different wars and tactics used was a fun and interesting experience. All of the artifacts and uniforms from different militaries are very cool to see up close. It was an amazing experience getting to see how the infantry men before me fought and won wars throughout American history. I would strongly recommend stopping even if just for a quick tour. It’s free entry and you can stay as long as there open so it’s a good place for big tour groups too.
