This was a really great place. We went during an event so there was an alligator show there as well. Even without that though, it would have been a great visit. Tons of awesome artifacts and displays. Great place to learn about Florida history.

This living history museum is awesome! We attended an event and we will be back for the next event! There is so much to see! 5 hours was not enough time to see it all. The Reenactors really bring history to life! This is a little hidden gem in paseo county Florida. Worth the entrance fee. Definitely visit local restaurant there are many authentic Mexican taco options - yum!

If there is a more comprehensive museum with a more complete collection of the culture of frontier life, I've never seen it! There were so many gems from the native beadwork, to the first lady dolls, to the tool collection, and the sewing and weaving machines. And that's just indoors! I was blown away with the amazing pieces they have curated. The staff was so kind and helpful, answering all my extra questions. I learned more in one afternoon than I have in a long time thanks to this museum. Fun for all ages, there's stuff to keep everyone interested. Oh and free parking!!!

This is place is incredible.
I planned my visit for just a few hours, ended up visiting all day
$12 entry fee and free parking
Hamburgers were yummy.

We had an amazing time here on Saturday, March 16 2024. We came for the egg hunt and fun, BUT there was SO much more to this museum village. My 4 year old not only picked eggs, he rode a pony, he rang a train bell, he got to see inside of an old school, old church, old house and an old sawmill. Wait, there's more a general store, a blacksmith, a barn he got to meet two sweet ladies making yarn and was able to feel the textures. This place an amazing time capsule and full of education. It had something for all ages.

The grounds are beautiful with many historic buildings on display. We did the self-guided tour, and it took us about an hour and a half to explore. It was really neat to broaden our kids’ perspectives and show them how people used to live. They really enjoyed it as well. This place is great for all ages! We will definitely be back!

We were visiting the area and stopped by the museum. There happened to be an event going on. (There was a fee for the event)
All of the staff were very nice.
We looked at the old train and learned a lot of history of the area.
They had music and several demonstrations along with vendors set up.
They have frequent events, so if you are traveling, this is a beautiful area. With or without an event this is high end Florida museum.
And they have plenty of bathrooms

Great place for an educational visit. I would recommend for all ages, kids or adults. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Facilities are clean and well kept. There is a unique collection of artifacts.
