Stunning views any time of year. Beautiful new lodge and remodeled cabins. Several hiking trails to choose from ranging from easy to moderate-all skill levels welcome. We absolutely LOVED the guided hike with the park naturalist. Great park for families, couples, and singles alike. We will definitely visit again.

Very nice park. I wasn't planning on going but was surprised at how pretty the main park area was. Very clean and neat. It was empty when I was there - late afternoon on a Tuesday - but I could tell they usually have large crowds. Beautiful scenery. The Cave itself was a little disappointing but the climb was a challenge and the views from on top of the rock formation were incredible.

We had a deluxe cabin..101... Beautiful view, nice cabin! Our kids came and cabin 104 had a broken coffee pot and the bedroom fan didn't work as well as no trash can liners. 106 did not have linens for the sofa bed and the floors were filthy. I suggest a checklist is needed. Lovely and well maintained park.

Beautiful state park with great trails. Nice restaurant you can eat at. The campgrounds are nice. Deep Ford campground is the only one with an attached restroom so recommend staying there if tent camping. Trails straight off the campground take you around the beautiful lake. DF001-003 you park by the road and there is a small hill you have to haul everything down. Beautiful spots still and a little secluded away from the rest of campground.

Came here to stay at the campground for quite a few days.
I opted to stay in the equestrian grounds.
I found the paved path to drive through the trees a tight squeeze for somewhere that’s supposed to accommodate horse trailers with living quarters. Thankfully I did not have a large trailer, but it was unsettling at times hoping to make it around a corner between trees.

The other thing I disliked was other campers had left huge black bags of horse manure at the end of sites. Which I imagine must be the expected behaviour- as it was common throughout. However- when I arrived there was bags at some sites that didn’t get picked up or cleaned out the entire six nights I stayed here. I feel like that’s kind of nasty. They even had garbage pick up. So I don’t know whose responsible for that but you can’t tell me it’s normal to sit around like that for almost a weeks time.

I found the sites to be a bit cracked and older and hard to level. Though most had shade which was really nice.

The showers were meh- mid grade I’d say. Dead bugs at times and some mould. Not sure how frequently they were cleaned. Free to use. However I didn’t like the way it was a button push system that I kept needing to push.

The dumping ground was a gaping hole and I didn’t have the right adaptor for it- normally the one I have fits standard. So I had to go without otherwise mine would’ve fallen in.

It wasn’t bad otherwise minus the abundance of spiders (which isn’t the state parks fault). The sites could use more cleaning and leaf blowing as I’ve seen done in other parks.
No laundry services here.
The leaves on the trails made me nervous regarding copperheads so I didn’t do much hiking, stuck to the paved paths and the road mostly.

Out of all the parks I’ve been to so far it’s the one I disliked the most.

Outdoors & Daytrippers

Visited the park for day tour . First , we had to pay for a parking fee . Fee is $8 good for 24 hours. There is a boating or kayaking area . Boats are for rent. There is a boat ride for $5. The day tour area have gift shop, rest rooms, restaurant and amphitheater . The view of the lake is relaxing in early morning. The park gets busy in the middle of the day. There are other areas of the park that caters horse riding , the cave trail hike , camping and cabin and lodge rental. I believe there are 5 areas of the park. On the day tour area, there is a yurt that can be rented. Very organized park and clean. Located in a secluded area of Wilburton Oklahoma

I will go back again for fall.

Amazing and beautiful place to take the family and enjoy nature. I grew up coming here every summer with my family and now I get to continue the tradition with my kids. Only complaint was the shower and AC in the Deep Ford campground were broken and it was extremely hot going in there to use them.
