Although we didn't hike everywhere due to hunting season, we really enjoyed the trails we got to walk. The views were amazing from the bluff. We'll be back to hit the other trails.

Very nice campground with a lot of spacious wooded campsites tucked in next to the Mississippi River. It gets a little buggy towards morning and evening due to some marshlands so bring your bug spray. Campsites range from large motor homes to tent camping. Fishing (kayak rental) and nice bike trails are available. Trails can take you either cross country through tree canvas areas or tree lined blacktop roads into the town of Trempleaeau approximately 3 mi away where you can visit lock & dam number 6.

We hiked both bluffs from the visitor center in loops, so it was 3.8 miles and ~730 feet of elevation gain. Views are spectacular. Go up the backside in the afternoon to avoid sun and get a better view on the way down.

My favorite state park in Wisconsin. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The Ranger has been the same ranger every time I have gone in the last 4 years. He is always very nice and helpful, especially when someone had parked themselves right in our camping spot during the week and didn't think about the weekend and moving their gigantic set up back to their campsite. We were given a new spot for the night while the campsite hoppers were forced back into their campsite.
Fountains and restooms seem to have been updated this year, 2024. Restrooms are well maintained. Showers are available if you don't like to rough it for the weekend. Bring your own water for drinking/cooking. The levels of nitrate are above the federal standard. Infants and pregnant women shouldn't be drinking it. We mostly use it for washing dishes.
Views are absolutely gorgeous and if you can make the trek up the peaks, it's absolutely worth it! Visit the overlook and catch a gorgeous view of the sunset over Trempealeau Bay and off behind Minnesota across the other side of the Mississippi River.

* Highly recommend driving the 20 minutes north to Kinstone outside Fountain City. You will not regret visiting the monoliths and stone circles. It is dog friendly, but they do have cats on the property. So please be courteous of the cats. They are super friendly and may follow you around.

Wonderful park with great, private camp sites. Awesome kayaking. There is a lock and dam that has barges going through which I found very interesting to watch. Great little place to eat on corner in Trempeleau with a stage that just happened to have a band playing when we were there. I rode my bike (battery assisted) from campsite all through Trempeleau and back. Freshly paved. Highly recommend. There is a train track by campground that is used very often. Didn't bother me but I suppose some might find it annoying.

This is a great park! It offers many options for things to do. Everything from hiking to biking to canoeing. For the biking the "The Great River" trail runs right by the park. You can connect with it and go either direction for a beautiful ride. The hiking is good as well. Not a bunch of trails, but the river’s edge trail is very nice and view at the top of Brady Bluff is amazing. There is a loop trail for canoeing with great views and another fun way to see a different part of the park.
For camping all the sites along Trempealeau Bay look great. If you are tenting site 45 is the best site in the park!

A couple nice loop trails, nice campground, and a scenic drive. If we are in the area, we'll be redoing Brady bluff, or camping here again.
