Lake is very high with flooding in some spots, but still mostly usable. I stayed in the Toronto Point area and had to move some logs at the boat launch, but was able to get on the water. Beautiful campground and well maintained facility.

Manns Cove is a really primitive site, but a really good spot for hammocking and checking out the water. We were able to spot a copperhead snake, but mostly just lots of spiders and a few skinks. Access to the water is somewhat limited, not much of a beach line. It’s pretty rocky.

I love to hike and camp here year round! The trails are nicely maintained.
Added 9/5/22: Fantastic bird watching. Unfortunately, lots of loud people post quiet hour and a lot of trash at the shore and in the campgrounds.

Least favorite of the Kansas State Parks I've been to. The directions were confusing, nothing anywhere close by for dining/shopping, but mostly our cabin was filthy. Dried grass in the shower, dust and dirt built up all over floors and under furniture. At least we had a bathroom, our tent and van camper friends walked into a nightmare of a shower house/bathroom with NO privacy, no sectioned off showers, No curtains...several went home the first day. The only positives were a very nice lake for fishing or kayaking (2 boat docks damaged and unusable) and a very nice camp host family.

This place is fine as far as camping goes. We tent camped in the non-electric, non-water part of the park. Very few people even on a holiday weekend. That’s are favorite part. The locals are super friendly - however, the gate crew and employees we had contact don’t seem to have much of a sense of humor.
Also, if you kayak on the water (or any boat) make sure you have a life jacket. I learned the hard way, even though it’s not posted anywhere in the part of the park I was in.

This is a beautiful, quiet, well maintained state park in such a lovely area of Kansas. Campsites are well spaced and level. Some are packed gravel, some are concrete pads that look very new. 50/30/20 amp and water campsites, as well as several full hook up sites. There are primitive tent type sites that are just amazing looking. All the camping areas are in completely shaded areas. This lake is surrounded by wonderful trees and green hills. We saw many happy fisherman holding up fish they had just caught. We walked a portion of one of the trails which looked to be well maintained, though a bit wet because of rain. There are several miles of trails for hiking. There is one modern shower house that appears to be clean and functional though we didn't use it. Other shower houses are the old open-air type, which we didn't use either. There are four rental cabins here that look absolutely wonderful, right on the lake edge with decks with nice views. Ice for sale at a small convenience store in the Toronto Point area of the park, with laundry available also. Firewood available for sale. Kayaks and life jackets are free to borrow. One of the old shower houses has been turned into a really good food stand which I think is only open on weekends. Very friendly staff in the entire park. Little to no cell service. This is a truly great place to unplug and relax. But beware if you've not been there before, Google maps will try to take you down a gravel road. Plan ahead for your route. Finding the different camping loops is challenging, too. But do it! It's worth the effort.

An absolutely beautiful area. The cabin was perfect in every way, except the beds could be a little more comfortable. The views from Eagles Nest cabin are awesome. Hard to believe that you're in Kansas.
Would be nice to have some amenities like a restaurant or convenience store close by. There is a Bait and Tackle in Toronto (corner of 54 and 105), but their selection is lacking, and their customer service skills are even more lacking. But, it is small town Kansas, and I'm not going to hold the town's lack of amenities against the state park.
We will be back for sure. With the kayaks, Mt bikes and fishing gear, and stay a few more days.

The park was well-maintained. The sites were level with plenty of shade trees. The bathrooms were clean. We had great cell service with T-mobile (At&t and Verizon had little to none).
