I had a wonderful experience during my visit to this museum. I decided to go early in the morning on a weekday, and I was surprised to find that the museum wasn't crowded at all. The atmosphere is quite and it made it easy to appreciate the art and artifacts on display. Overall, it was an enjoyable way to start my day, and I felt like I had the museum almost to myself.

I took my grandfather with me, and he was able to walk and take breaks comfortably on a seat. The museum is very accommodating for people with disabilities, making it easy for everyone to navigate.

Paid parking is available in the back of the building, and there’s plenty of space, so parking shouldn’t be a concern. However, it’s worth noting that the parking spaces are on the smaller side to maximize the available area.

This is arguably the greatest museum in Seattle and one of the most ethereal experiences I have had in the Pacific Northwest. As someone deeply familiar with the nature and culture of scandinavia, from deep forest of pines to the music of Edvard Grieg, I felt a particular connection to this place, and it reminded me greatly of my time in Norway. What is particularly Scandinavian about this place is the mix of futuristic, geometric minimalism with an overall sense of community and warmth. The effect is very clean and pristine, but not in an antiseptic way: rather in a way that calls the potential to the dreamlike wonder of the natural environment of Scandinavia and the thoughtful, innovative curiosity of its people. The museum features testaments to Nordic creativity and entrepreneurship while also fixating on the greater sense of a communal fabric and sense of folklore and culture that unites people and heightens their connection to the natural environment. There are wildly strange art exhibits here, such as a kind of dark fairy tale world that I greatly enjoyed, but they're also places devoted to cultivating a kind of absolute serenity, such as one theater like area where in the seats are meant to look like great stones, end of the pillars made to look like a birch forest, as brilliantly constructed montages of the natural environments in the Nordic countries play on repeat. The the music in the museum is particularly notable and contributes deeply to the heightened sense of place that one feels while wandering here. Please do yourself a favor and come here.

The is a beautiful and informative museum that packs a huge punch for being so small. The collection of artifacts and media does an excellent job of showing the richness of Nordic culture and its impacts, especially on Washington State. The Julefest is extra fun!

Cool museum - enjoyed the history across the regions/countries that I haven't seen presented that way. Wasn't busy, so easy to go through - logical transition between topics/time periods.
Building itself very open.
Special art exhibit very interesting.

This museum was absoluyely lovely. It was so cool to read all the historical info especially about the immigration of many of the nordic folks to seattle. Would definitwly recomme d.

This was a cool experience. We visited the week of Thanksgiving and firstly, warmly welcomed by a nice woman who took time to offer the optimum viewing order of the sections.
Each section offers somewhat of a timeline. You have multiple mediums of learning as well - there are the physical artifacts, written descriptions as well as video displays. This was really well throughout and, I think, makes for a more well-rounded way to take in information.
There is also plenty of space - even though there is a ton to see, you never really feel crowded since the way it is laid out, you can easily circle back to something missed if occupied on first pass. I wish more museums were set up this way! Pleasant visit and definitely would go back again.
Also as a bonus, just a short walk to the Ballard Locks. Very cool to watch.

The information and items within the museum were wonderful to see and learn from. The interactive scavenger hunt for the kids was wonderful to have as it kept them engaged.
