Easily one of the best small museums I've visited in my travels. And that's all chalked up to the friendliness of the staff, the unique setup of the exhibits and the character of the building itself.

Each of the exhibits invites you to take your time reading the hand written notes and admiring the details. I thoroughly enjoyed the placement of the wax figures and the spookiness of walking through that section.

Would definitely recommend going when it isn't super busy so you can take your time.

We visited on a weekday so there was no wait and the place was not overcrowded. They have nice souvenirs and postcards (if that’s your thing!). The staff was very friendly and explained what to expect for the self-guided tour. 🙂

The different exhibits were great, interested, and weird (in the best way!). However, I wished they used other forms of media. When we visited, more info were on posters and in section that were not well-lit, it was quite difficult to read. ? overall, still a great experience!

Kind of small and not worth. Some things were interesting but I wouldn't bring other people here or return.
Definitely not wheelchair or stroller friendly. Narrow hallways and stair steps

This place is a must see in Austin, especially for fans of the macabre, strange, oddities, and all things strange. This is the home of the famous Minnesota Ice Man!! The employees and owners were all so kind and chatted with me about my trip and experience in Austin, as I was visiting alone. They made me feel comfortable and welcome in the city. I highly recommend this museum.

It is pretty small and cramped, so I recommend going during the week or off hours as to avoid crowds. It is also not accessible to those in wheelchairs that I could see.

The gift shop is decently sized and had lots of interesting choices including shirts, stickers, magnets, bags, toys, postcards, and handmade jewelry from local artisans.

I would actually rate this museum 3.5. It does house some truly weird things, but it is difficult to read up on a lot of them because of overcrowding of the exhibits, and poor lighting of the written descriptions. I also noticed that many of the life-sized features could use a good dusting! My grandsons enjoyed it (ages 14, 9, & 6).

It's like a three-story building packed with all sorts of crazy exhibits. The staff was super friendly and the prices were reasonable. If you're ever in Austin, you should definitely check it out!

Weird and wacky activity! I went on a birthday trip to Austin, and it was a chill little place! It gave me the mystery shack from Gravity Falls kinda vibe, but I really loved it! It's short and chill! If you have 30 mins kill in Austin I'd recommend it!
