An amazing museum , perhaps the change that is required in India. This is perhaps the only museum that matches international standards in some ways.
The place is very well managed and the displays are also very well done. I quite liked the seamless experience.
The restaurant on the rooftop is also so good.
Though I went to see only 1 exhibit I managed to stretch some time and visit one more hall. Would love to go back to experience the other spaces such as the digital centre . If you are in Bangalore then do not miss visiting. They organize a lot of workshops too that can benefit kids and adults alike.
Highly recommend visiting

The building features modern architecture with an innovative metal structure that’s the highlight. The southeast glazing brings in colorful light ?, creating a stunning effect against the white interiors—perfect for candid photos. The museum offers a mix of modern art and photography, with most exhibits focused on historical art.?

Amazing art museum with well curated collection of art and other unique art installations!
Beautifully maintained with kind and helpful staff.
The building itself is gorgeous and kept immaculately clean!
The museum has multiple floors with various themes that changes occasionally.
The post card exhibit was nostalgic, with a section where we could write our own postcards!
A must visit if you're in this side of the town

The Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) in Bangalore is an absolute gem!
The Hologram Experience on Lower Ground Floor is stunning, bringing paintings to life in 3D, with the curator adding fascinating insights.
The museum itself is free to enter, with complimentary access to the ground and first-floor exhibits. "Painting with Fire," the beautiful display by Jeram Patel and Tarik Currimbhoy on the ground floor, left me speechless. Their unique art form using fire on wood to create stunning visuals was like nothing I’d ever seen.
As you move up, the third and fourth floors feature paid galleries, and they're worth every penny. The third floor had an inspiring collection by Krishna Reddy, while the fourth represented women through artistic expression, a beautiful, thought-provoking experience.
With its beautiful ambiance and thoughtfully curated spaces, MAP is a must-visit for all art lovers. ️

The cleanest museum

More than the museum, you will love the cleanliness and maintenance of museum. Well planned with stairs, huge elevators and automated doors. Clean washrooms.

Museum is worth visiting for the ancient brass idols of various gods and collection of pictures and postcards. Also has one floor full of tribal lifestyle and their art info. Totally loved it.

This museum is supported by many corporates and individuals. It has four floors and needs about 2hours. Also has a shop which sells articles and home decors.

Tuesday is free entry.

Visited MAP (Museum of Art & Photography) on a leisurely Saturday afternoon stroll. The approach is so calming, as it’s located at the corner of a residential street and main road. The exterior welcomes you with a vibrant mural and cool sculpture cum planters. The staff were friendly and helpful. At the time of my visit, two levels were free and required no tickets. The museum was not very busy and I felt like I was on a private tour. One feature I enjoyed was seeing art displayed on screens along with the story that inspired the artwork.

The museum gets bonus points for accessibility. A key feature is the side by side sign language videos when audio is present. This really dignifies the deaf community. There washrooms are also accessible and there is a spacious lift. The floor to ceiling windows shed light on the art and offer contemplative views of nearby buildings and the beautiful Bangalore sky.

This museum boasts not one but two places to dine. There is a cute and casual art cafe on the lower ground level. A nice feature are the colorful notes that adorn the walls, fostering human connection and feeding our natural curiosity. There is a more refined restaurant on the terrace, making full use of the beautiful views and indoor outdoor feel that Bangalore is known for.

Screens in the lobby welcome visitors back for a host of interactive workshops. There are events and exhibits that require tickets, so be prepared to ask and possibly book ahead. The museum shop has nice offerings at a variety of price points. Overall I enjoyed my visit and love proximity to other places of interest, like Cubbon Park and Lavelle Road. Worth the trip.
