Eager and helpful staff. The exhibits are an extensive overview of the city's history. I highly recommend a visit for new residents to the city to get a greater appreciation for what a unique town we have!

This museum is filled with outstanding exhibits which characterize each era of Lynchburg history. There is so much information to take in, well written and sequenced, and thoughtfully laid out. There are parts of each exhibit which cater to different ages, and the staff had two difficulties of scavenger hunts which helps older and younger visitors both have motivation to keep viewing exhibits and keep attention spans longer than they otherwise might endure. A must see if you are traveling outside of northern Virginia and want to learn some history of other parts of the state and how an "average" size town in America in this part of the country evolved over hundreds of years.

Great, free museum in historic court house, containing many artifacts depicting history of lynchburg and really does a great job of capturing the significance of this small moutain town and its role in American history, through the eras. Museum staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Must stop by if you are into history and passing through the area!

Wonderful exhibition of Lynchburg history on three floors .The staff are very helpful with information. Please check for open and closing hours before you visit as Google online hours may vary during the various seasons. I did notice that I had to assist and hold my senior mother hand when entering and exiting the front stairs of the museum as the stairs are very high for the elderly and handicap.

Great day in Lynchburg, VA. Please know that the Lynchburg Museum is the Lynchburg Visitor Center, and they do help out if you have any questions. Very friendly and helpful. A Lot to do here but every place we went was by appointment tour Make sure to visit the places web site. We lucked out at Anne Spencer's house, her granddaughter was doing a tour with some others and we got there just in time.
