These gardens are absolutely amazing. There are many ponds with a zillion varieties of aquatic plants, water Lillie’s, hyacinth,lotus flowers and many more.

Summer is the best time to see all of the blooms but I would like to go see it in winter as well for contrast. Grab a brochure at the visitor center

This is a truly wonderful National Park in the depths of urban, busy, Anacostia, DC. There are miles of natural trails among the aquatic ponds filled with a variety of lily pads that bloom throughout the summer months. Plus you never know what type of birds and other wildlife you might see on a visit. This place is most definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful garden!!!! Lots of aquatic plants to see however it did seem like most of them were at the end of their peak. It’s has great and accessible walkways also if you want to explore around.

Had the pleasure of attending the Lotus and Water Lily Festival this past weekend at the park. Enjoyed the activities and beautiful blooms. Sadly parking is limited but was able to secure a space a few blocks away. Glad to have this park in the middle of this DC neighborhood.

Lots of lotus flowers and water animals to see such as turtles, frogs and fish. I love the boardwalk where you can see yards of marsh. Informative as well, great to walk around on a nice day.

Very nice, underrated place to walk around and appreciate the wildlife! Probably takes less than an hour to walk around the main section and the marsh viewpoint, but there are also plenty of spots to sit down (including at the viewpoints) and relax a little. Lots of birds, insects, turtles, fish, and other critters to look at, not to mention the huge variety of flora.

It's also a short distance from the National Arboretum, so they make a nice pairing especially for tourists.
