During our stay in town for a few days to attend baseball games between the Braves and Dodgers, we decided to make a side trip to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. Situated in Atlanta, Georgia's Poncey-Highland neighborhood, the library and museum boast attractive landscaping and a scenic walking path around a beautiful pond behind the museum.

Upon arrival, a welcoming staff member greeted us at the gift shop, which serves as both the starting and ending point for the museum tour. The tour begins with a short film that provides an overview of President Carter's life and accomplishments. Afterward, guests are free to explore the various exhibits, starting with his childhood in Plains, Georgia, and concluding with his post-presidency achievements. Though relatively quick, at around two hours, the museum effectively chronicles Carter's history.

The museum offered a unique blend of historical insights and nostalgic moments. As President Carter was in office during my wife and I's marriage, we have fond memories of his time in office, notably his cozy cardigan sweater-clad chats from the White House, encouraging Americans to conserve energy by turning down their thermostats. The photographs and video clips in the museum reminded us of his down-to-earth demeanor while still maintaining his presidential dignity. Regardless of one's political views, it's evident that he was and continues to be a man of integrity and goodwill.

Our visit to the museum was highly enjoyable, and we highly recommend it to anyone interested in American history.

This presidential library was a very nice place to visit. I was too young to remember his presidency firsthand, so it was cool to read and learn more about the issues that were briefly touched on in school. Although his presidency only lasted one term, the office itself no doubt catapulted what he was able to do humanitarian wise over the next 4 decades or so. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, so a walk around the grounds would be suggested as well.

I visited museum with my two kids, and we had a fantastic time! Tickets were $12 for adults, and kids under 16 got in for free, which was great for our budget.

The museum has a lot of cool exhibits. We loved seeing the replica of the Oval Office and learning about Carter’s life and presidency. The kids were really into the interactive displays and the video footage from his time in office.

The gardens outside were beautiful, and it was nice to take a break there after walking through the museum. We spent about two hours exploring, and the kids left with a lot of new knowledge about American history.

I enjoyed spending some time at the library and museum. Although he was a one-term president, his legacy extends far beyond his four years in the White House. The exhibits clearly demonstrated his influence on humanitarian efforts across the globe. I also appreciated that the museum highlighted his wife's work as her own accomplishment.

I don’t know why this has lower reviews! I’ve been to 5 other presidential museums and this was one of the BEST! It had a lot of walking areas to go sit, and relax! The people working were so kind and ready to help with any questions you had. The only downfall is I thought the gift shop could have been bigger. I would highly suggest coming to this presidential museum and looking around. I spent about 2 hours here.

Some cool unique items, but some are just reproductions. Not as cool as the George Bush museum in Dallas. Being a war time president, dealing with 9/11,
and having 4 more years gives him an advantage.

Free parking which was nice. Free admission for military. Reasonably priced gift shop.
