I’ve been going to Howard Park for about 15 years, mostly to the beach. I’ve had picnics at the waterfront picnic areas, which were well maintained and had nice views. The beach is nice, but has a lot of seaweed which can be unpleasant. The crowd can get sketchy at times as well. Years ago the county began charging for parking at the beach, the park area remains free.

Extreme limited parking. Extra parking on dirt road to park. Bathroom a plus. Clean tiny beach park. A few pavilions. This is more of a Mangroves park. That means mud, mosquito, shallow water and I will leave the rest to your imagination. However it's still the Gulf of Mexico!

Beautiful park. I prefer Caribbean blue water, but still enjoyed the beauty of the park

The beach area is no pets allowed. Gorgeous area with sand and some rocks to stand on and watch the waves. They have a trailer that rents chairs and canoes and kayaks. Bring your own snacks and refreshments add there is no food or snack stand or machines. Clear water with gorgeous views. Great selection of paid parking. Bathrooms available and clean.

Just remember folks: it’s an island and it’s inland between honeymoon and anclote’s jetty’s. The water is not crystal clear and it’s got some sea grass, but it’s is a peaceful place to enjoy a beautiful day. The bathrooms are conveniently placed, the outdoor showers are GREAT and it’s only $5 to park all day. Decent place to listen to the seagulls and boat watch. The little fishies in the water are great entertainment also. The parking lot is close enough to the water that taking beach gear isn’t a pain. Bring a pop up and relax for a while. Animals are NOT allowed on the beach, which is nice. You don’t have to worry about random dogs rolling up and begging for snacks.

WOWOWOW!

If it wasn’t enough to view such beautiful surroundings, the show put by a mother dolphin teaching its calf to swim, together with myriad of nesting birds, left me just speechless ?

A MUST to visit when in Tarpon Springs.

For over 25 yrs this has been a favorite place to visit. Great place for windsurfing and kite boarding. The community of sailors are friendly and make you feel welcome. If you love flat water sailing, this should be on your bucket list.
