$10 and something for non residents plus $3 for water splash which is not that big. Overall is not that bad but small for the
Price you have to pay

We absolutely love the free splash pad during the summer. Plenty of shaded outdoor seating and all of the water stations are well-maintained and in operation. The playground itself is best suited for kids five and over.

*** update Aug. 11, 2023 trees being cut down!!! And, planned artificial turf for soccer field!!! HANDS OFF OUR PARKS! As of May 2023 the City of Aventura has destroyed the Founder’s Park South section, the community garden and tranquil nature Park is no more! Absolutely unfathomable...I hope the photos will be a good reminder how beautiful it was. People will be talking about this for a long time.

Twelve acre Founders Park in Aventura is dedicated to those who helped to get the city incorporated in 1995. There is a monument to the founders of Aventura in the park.

There are two sections of the park, north and south. The south section bayside which I visited is on the promenade that runs along the Intracoastal. There is a paved walkway and the Aventura Community Green Garden. Residents of Aventura can lease a a 4 x 12 foot garden plot for $110 a year.

The northern section of Founders Park is for Aventura residents only. There is a welcome center; a quarter-mile, four station exercise trail; ADA accessible playground; sun shelters; tennis courts, and a multipurpose athletic field for baseball, softball, football or soccer.

The park is also the home of the Founders ParkSplashPad, a water play area inside the park. Admission is free for Aventura residents and non residents used to be able to pay to use this section of the park but this year they closed to anyone that does not have ID saying they live in Aventura. This is the first city park I have ever come across in Florida that is closed to non residents. This is probably a 5 star facility if you live here but if you are from outside of the city you are not getting in the north side of this fenced in park.

We visited the park this morning, having driven from quite a distance because we saw they had a splash pad. According to the posted hours, the park opens at 8 AM, so we arrived around 9 AM. Once we got there, we realized we had to pay nearly $30 to enter the splash pad for two adults and one small baby. We paid through a really hard-to-use application.

After being at the splash pad for about six minutes, a very rude woman came over screaming at us, saying the park did not open until 10. There was no notice of this online or anywhere near the splash pad. We explained that we had paid, and there was no indication of the different opening hours, but she was very rude and basically threw us out.

To save you some time, don't bother driving down and getting to the park at 8 AM, despite what it says online. Also, be prepared to spend nearly $30 for a small splash pad in a public park. If the manager is reading this, your staff could benefit from some training in interpersonal skills. There is a way to communicate and that was not it.

Unfortunately, this amazing park is being ruined by employees like Tim. It’s clear that he hates his job and the place itself. It’s impossible to ask him a question politely. When you speak to him, he completely ignores you, and when you ask him something, he keeps walking away, only to respond reluctantly by shouting from a distance. He makes people feel like we’re begging to be on his property, which is incredibly disappointing for such a wonderful park.
