Labor Day Parade and Picnic saw the celebration of union supported workers coming together @Banning Park and Museum. Thousands of workers with family members, friends and supporters marched through Wilmington to the park. Then enjoyed the food, music, speeches and children's entertainment zone.

It's a very special place, part of long-lost California's history. House built by Phineas Banning, handsome self-made man, who owned a warf and a newspaper, was married twice, and had about dozen of children. Very well preserved, even though the furniture is not all original. The guided tour was excellent. But it's not open everyday, so check the schedule on the website to avoid closed doors.

It's a beautiful house with an interesting history. There are some magical things to discover that you'll never expect from looking at it from the outside! The Banning family have donated many original pieces of furniture as well as personal items which give it a more personal perspective.
They don't charge anything but will happily accept donations.

If you need a Gone With The Wind experience, check this place out. Not only it's perfectly kept, but of significant historical value. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us an excellent tour. I would recommend visiting here and the Drum Barracks down there street on the same day.

Beautiful home and grounds. Definitely worth the visit. Our tour guide, Vince Correa, was outstanding. He is knowledgeable and presents the history in a relatable way. He toured the house as a young child and his pride in the facility shines through.

Beautifully maintained mansion and time capsule from the late 1800s, a unique window into the life of one of the founders of the Los Angeles we know today. A true gem.
