Absolutely loved visiting The Fine Arts Museum with the family this past weekend! I wasn't sure how my son (19, autistic) would do with it, but he loved it!! We were all touched and moved almost to tears, some of us in tears, at the Women of War exhibit on the War in Ukraine. My son really wanted the book that accompanied the Women of War exhibit but it wasn't on sale. The front desk support was super helpful and let us know where we could possibly find it for purchase, since the museum is part of the University, and is a non-profit, therefore no gift shop. In all it was a great trip out and we can't wait to see what exhibit they put in next!!
Shout out to Jessica Comas for encouraging me to look around the day prior while waiting on a work meeting to start! You're awesome!!

Ok I was visiting a friend in Tallahassee on 02/03/2019. Google maps showed MOFA was closed on Sundays. I mailed the phone number pressed 1 as instructed and it stated Saturday & Sunday hours 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. We drove to the location and it's closed.
Really A University where I assume University educated individuals work and they can't update the phone system or Google Maps. Sad.

The art here was 'reaching' at best. The passport exhibit was a major risk for identity theft for anyone dumb enough to make a copy of their passport and hang it on the wall. The only two good things were the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the fact that there wasn't an entry fee. But parking on the street blocks away was a pain, as the garages seemed to be reserved for staff/students. But that doesn't matter, as I likely will not be back.

I love art, everything about it. And you can tell that the curators here have the passion for art as well. The exhibits are beautiful and there is always plently to look at. I love when they put up the student exhibitions, seeing their insane talent and passion for traditional art is inspiring and raw. I will return again, happily.

Lovely museum. How wonderful it is that FSU students have such a large space to show their artworks. I was lucky enough to have my BFA Final Show down stairs many years ago. Glad there is a parking lot attached for guests to attend openings.
