Beautiful state Park with friendly staff! Davis pond trail pretty easy with little elevation change. No place to cool off, so a hot day be prepared but overcast days are perfect. There are lots of trees on the trails, but some are quite exposed. The visitor center is nice with a little gift shop and bathrooms.

Beautiful, clean, so many well-kept and well-marked trails. We hiked a 9 mile loop that included Elk Pond and Elk Falls and loved the entire hike! The scenery changed so many times and everything from the forests, to the meadows, to the pond and falls and rock formations were so beautiful. Visitor center workers were also very helpful and friendly.

We were looking for somewhere to see the Aspens. Coming from Denver, we decided to go here instead fighting traffic to Guanella Pass to see the aspens. We still had a bit of traffic, but once we arrived, there was plenty of parking and the trail wasn’t too busy. The park volunteers were super helpful in pointing us in the right direction to hike and see a good grove of trees changing colors.

We visited and used two Track Chairs for our sons, ages 9 and 12 who both have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The hike was amazing and our boys truly enjoyed this experience. We did the easiest hike, but plan to do more in the future if we come back to Colorado. The volunteers were great as well and made the day great! This park is what sparked my son’s Make-A-Wish trip! He really wanted to do a hike with these chairs!

This park is a hidden gem. The trails up the mountain are a little challenging but still accessible to casual hikers.
The visitor center has lots of great merchandise, and all the park employees were genuine, kind, and helpful!

Our favorite state park near Denver! It’s beautiful and has tons of kid friendly trails. THANK YOU Staunton State Park staff for your incredible kids programs - Trail Tots is the highlight of our week. We also love that you offer Hike or Treat, moonlight guided hikes, wildflower hikes, and other incredible free events for visitors.

This is a gem of a park. I first visited years ago for fishing at the Davis Ponds. In the past several years, all my visits have been for hiking. You get plenty of shade on the trails and rewarded with great views.

I absolutely love this state park! The staff is wonderful, the facilities are clean, the visitors center is filled with cool information for adults and kids alike, there’s a stroller / wheelchair accessible trail right next to the visitors center that leads to a pond! Only 30 min from Littleton ⛰️?
