A fun adventure of a park. Playgrounds (multiple) for the kiddos, plenty of restrooms, showers, water access, fishing docks... It's all there and a fun getaway. Power Poles have 50 & 30 amp AND 110V connections for those tent campers like ourselves, including a singular water spigot per usual. Staff is nice too! Park store offers you the ability to grab a few necessities when necessary. They also have firewood for sale and ice here, plus many options for enjoying nature. Check alerts on the official Texas parks page prior to booking a camping trip or visit, as often it could be closed due to misc. as well as swimming areas closed or specific trail closures. Either way, you will enjoy your stay if you enjoy camping or visiting. It can get PACKED on weekends, so expect a lively environment but yet one that still makes you feel like you can mind your own business without others intervening.

A super day trip. Wish I had longer! Wish I had taken more varied photos because this is a testament to a great state park that is good for camping, and hiking. There are canoe rentals, a pier, small store and day area and fishing; but keep an eye out for an alligator ? Gotta love the outdoors and East Texas woods!

Calming environment. Huntsville state park is still recovering from the storms but it had a lot to offer! Paddle boat was a fun activity. We enjoyed viewing the forest from the lake and next to the lake! We also enjoyed the waterlily accessible by paddleboat.

Wanted to come here with some friends and do some fishing. It was raining but that didn't stop us. Despite the rain, the park was beautiful, empty, and very well kept. The staff were very nice and even provided us with a list of fish we can keep (I included a picture of it). We didn't end up catching any fish that day. Not sure if it was a bad day, or if we're in a bad spot (we were fishing at the fishing pier), or we're using bad bait (worms/shrimp/cat fish dough balls). But we did see a crawfish at the pier with a missing arm.

I look forward to coming here again soon 🙂

I love Huntsville State Park; it’s a very nice park. Great picnic area, great fishing, canoeing if that’s what you like, horseback riding; it brings back a lot of memories. They have awesome bike trails; I highly recommend them. If you like riding bikes.

This park has lots of hiking trails and biking trails to try out, and they are pretty well maintained. Some of the trails were down from recent rainstorms when i went, so just be aware of those. Alligators are also around, though i didnt see any. Would definitely come back for more hiking!
