Great park, nice easy trail with nice waterfall. I went about 1pm on a holiday week day (Veteran’s Day) and there were a few people but nothing I would call “crowded.”

Trail is mostly paved with some areas that you can take a short trail through the trees. It would be suitable for jogging for sure.

Park is dog friendly and clean! It has a few picnic areas and parking is sparse but there is some parking on the east side of the trail hidden on a residential street on Prairie Creek. Once you know that parking is there, it’s a little easier to navigate.

Prairie Creek Park is a serene retreat for nature enthusiasts, offering a picturesque water cascade that’s perfect for unwinding and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. The park’s well-maintained walking paths, conveniently located near the neighborhood, make it an accessible and enjoyable destination for a quick escape or a leisurely stroll. Its status as a hidden gem adds to its charm, providing visitors with a sense of discovery as they explore its natural wonders.

One of the park’s highlights is the creek, where one can pause to observe the abundance of fish in its clear waters. This natural spectacle adds an extra layer of fascination to the park experience, making it a delightful spot for nature observation and relaxation. During my visit for a quick lunch break and a walk, I found the park to be a peaceful oasis, with the trees providing cool shade that made the noon sun bearable and enjoyable.

However, one downside worth mentioning is the limited parking availability and the close proximity of the park to nearby houses. This can sometimes make finding parking a bit challenging, especially during peak times. Despite this minor inconvenience, Prairie Creek Park remains a wonderful destination for those seeking a tranquil outdoor experience in a natural setting.

Good for small

Great park with lots of beautiful greenery. Great place for a nice walk with your pet. Family friendly environment with great scenery for professional photo shoots. Got to see a wedding party taking beautiful photos on the main bridge. Grads were shooting after the party too!

The water was a little low for the falls in October 2024. The trail was very nice & I recommend it for a nice afternoon stroll. Very clean & dog friendly.

Nice walking trail! It is a gravel trail, can be very muddy on a rainy day, just like today ?
Very refreshing and relaxing walk! Beautiful neighborhood!

Right now - there are construction around the park, so parking is hard!

Highly recommended!

Very peaceful place in the middle of a residential area in a busy town. Makes you forget where you are and you can enjoy nature. Beautiful trail and manmade waterfall. Not worth traveling to see it, but if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out. Warning, there is road construction going on which made it difficult to get to, not a lot of parking and no restroom.

We brought the dog for a walk in the park, and I was a bit disappointed at how suburbial it was. There was also a construction site that has been going on since 2015 that’s supposed to be completed by winter of 2024 but by the looks of it, it didn’t look like it was progressing. There were a couple pretty spots of the creek and the bridge but otherwise you could see houses just behind the trees.

There were some open green spaces that had benches for you to sit and hang out.

Personally, I live in Addison and don’t know that I’d drive out for this walk again. If I lived in the area, I might walk through it again, but wouldn’t go out of my way.
